Estate story
Centered around Cirò Marina (pop. 14k) the vinyards are divided into three estates. The largest is the 70 hectares on the Mancuso hillside ("mancuso" means "left", as in "turn left" when leaving Cirò Marina). The beautiful Mancuso vineyard delivers densely planted Galgioppo grapes. Near sea level are the Feudo and Difesa Piana Estates at 19 and 11 hectares respectively, growing Gaglioppo, Greco Bianco, and Pecorello.
One of Italy's Oldest Wine Areas
Established as a DOC in 1969; the red wines of the Classico subzone gained separate DOCG status in 2023.
Clay-marl soils on the hills; sandy-silt, alluvial, and limestone matrix near the sea.
Southeast-facing with regular, coastal breezes.
Gaglioppo, Greco Bianco, Pecorello, Cabernet Sauvignon.
Long-macerated reds in French oak, whites in stainless steel.

Ippolito Mission
"With over 170 years of history, Ippolito is today the oldest winery in Calabria. Located in the historic center of Cirò Marina, the heart of Calabrian viticulture, the farm includes a 100-hectare agricultural estate, distributed between rolling hills and sunny plains near the Ionian Sea, in the classic Cirò area. The company mission has always been the recovery of traditions through the enhancement of native vines, the protection of the territory, intended as an ecosystem to defend and preserve."
Ippolito Philosophy
"Through research in the vineyard and in the cellar, the use of innovative techniques, the direct control of all production processes, we seek in our wines the elegance, exclusivity and identity with our territory. A fascinating challenge addressed through absolute quality. Today the company can boast 15 labels on 4 continents, a result that more than any other confirms a significant entrepreneurial dynamism."
A Legacy Continued
Ippolito today "features 15 different wine labels on 4 continents. Its guiding principles, that were born over 170 years ago are to promote the appreciation of its native vines, to safeguard the territory, to respect the traditions, nature and biodiversity of its native land. With the 5th generation at the helm, this is destined to continue for generations to come."
