The story

Ovello is one of the historic crus in the Barbaresco area, occupying the northernmost part of the municipality.
Most of the vineyards owned by the Giacosa family are concentrated in this MGA. The average age of the vines is over 50 years. Clay-rich soils, combined with higher altitude and good ventilation, convey powerful tannins and a strong structure to the Nebbiolo grown here.

Careful selection of the best bunches of grapes and expert vinification in the cellar result in our Barbaresco Ovello, a wine of outstanding structure and austerity

Winemaking

From vineyard to bottle

Harvest

Grapes are crushed and destemmed, then the must ferments on skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks

Barrel

After drawn off and partially cleared, the wine ages in large oak barrels
