The story

Asili is one of Giacosa's historic vineyards, purchased by Carlo in 1964, the year he got married. The parcel of land here is exposed to the south and south-west. Initially planted partly with Barbera and partly with Nebbiolo, it was later converted entirely to Nebbiolo.

For many years Giacosa blended the grapes grown here with those from other vineyards but in 2018 they decided to vinify them as a single-vineyard wine, creating their Barbaresco Asili.

Winemaking

From vineyard to bottle

Harvest

Crushed and destemmed before fermenting on skins in temperature-controlled steel tanks

Barrel

After drawn off and partially cleared, the wine ages in French oak barrels
